Hi I am Marie, thank you for visiting my site. I believe that the most important thing is finding a counsellor that you click with and feel comfortable enough to talk to. We start to feel better when we find someone who understands us and we can connect with, REGAINING parts of ourselves.

Hi I am Marie, thank you for visiting my site. I believe that the most important thing is finding a counsellor that you click with and feel comfortable enough to talk to. We start to feel better when we find someone who understands us and we can connect with, REGAINING parts of ourselves.
Like many people, I’ve had times in my life when I needed support. Seeing a counsellor during these times made a huge difference and inspired me. It showed me how life changing it can be to have someone truly listen—without judgement.
Coming to counselling for the first time can feel daunting, I understand that completely. You might wonder, “What will I say? Will I be judged? Will this help me?”. These are very common thoughts. It’s natural to feel nervous about opening up to someone you’ve never met. But in our sessions, there’s no pressure to have all the answers or know exactly where to start. The most important thing is showing up and being open to the therapeutic process.
I offer clients empathy, kindness, honesty and unconditional positive regard within a safe and confidential space.
I have over 25 years experience working with young people and adults of all ages, within private and voluntary settings as well as public settings (KCC). I have a passion for promoting young people and adults wellbeing and for mental wellbeing. I am Mental Health first Aid trained. Over the last few years there has been a rise in mental health challenges for young people and adults. This has led me to focus my practice on supporting clients of all ages, using whichever approach suits your needs the most. Some prefer face-to-face talking therapy, while others prefer a Draw and Talk approach. I offer both and can tailor these to your needs and preferences.
As well as my private practice, I’ve worked in a variety of different settings. I’ve provided emotional well-being support within education settings (Primary, secondary and SEN schools), social care settings and in wider community programs.
Over the years, I’ve deepened my skills through extra training in areas that are often important for clients:
I hold a diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, with a focus on Person-Centred counselling, as well as drawing on different models and a range of therapeutic methods and techniques including Draw and Talk, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and many creative approaches.
I’m a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), which means I adhere to the ethical framework that guides my practice. I also hold an Enhanced DBS and am fully insured.
Clients have the choice of face-to-face or online Counselling sessions. I also offer Draw and Talk therapy. Over the years I have developed meaningful connections and successfully supported many adults and young people overcome and understand a wide range of difficulties, which include:
Trauma
Stress
Depression
Self-harm
Relationship difficulties
Neurodivergence (difference not deficit)
Bereavement
Low self-esteem
Domestic abuse
Anxiety
Health issues
Loneliness
Work issues
